Québec City skyline from the St. Lawrence River

It’s the tip you’ll get from guidebooks, locals and tourists alike: hop on the Québec–Lévis ferry for great views of Québec City and the Château Frontenac.
This is perhaps the most famous image of Québec and the one that ends up on postcards and vacation slideshows everywhere.
The ferry service runs year-round, with more frequent service during the summer (every 30 minutes during the day). It connects the “old town” districts of Vieux-Québec and Vieux-Lévis. A one-way trip is roughly 15 minutes and the open-air top deck is an ideal spot for photos.
See the ferry website for fares, schedules and other details.
